Here is the insignia of SPA94. On the French insignia, the scythe is held in only one hand and the blade points to the rear and is above the figure. This emblem was always painted on a large black pennant that extended from the cockpit aft almost to the tail. This gives the "two-tone" impression that FokkerJ was talking about.
