Sopwith Pup N6161 Crash Landing at Nieuwmunster, Belgium 1917.
Very nice photo, FOKKERJ. Sobrien nailed it, of course. Just FYI: Pup N6161 was delivered to the aircraft park at Dover on 22 January 1917, then to the Air Depot at Dunkirk on the 25th, being assigned to 'B' Flight of No. 3 Naval Squadron on the same day. It was shot down at Blankenberghe on 1 February 1917, with FSL G.L. Elliott being taken POW. His apparent victor was Flugmeister Karl Meyer of Seefrontstaffel 1. There is another famous photo of this same Pup in German markings (but not on its nose) with Albatros D.III fighters lined up in the distance.
Just FYI.
