CABINET CARD PHOTO OF UTE INDIANS BY E. A. WILDER c1885. CABINET CARD PHOTO of UTE INDIANS by PHOTOGRAPHER E.A. WILDER from DURANGO COLORADO. The back of the CABINET CARD reads: "E.A. WILDER ---- PORTRAIT AND LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER DURANGO COLO." I don't know much about this photo, but it is fascinating. It is some type of gathering consisting mainly of UTE INDIANS, some are holding rifles and some are holding pistols. I was told by the seller from the ESTATE SALE that I purchased this photograph from that the image also includes INDIAN AGENT WARREN PATTEN (I believe he is the White man in a military uniform in the back) and seated at the far right, JOHN TAYLOR an AFRICAN AMERICAN INTERPRETER employed by the SOUTH UTE AGENCY. Looks like some type of negotiations are ready to take place.
